Funding Boost for Bury Film Group

We're delighted to announce that Bury Film Group has been awarded £3,500 from the locality budgets of Councillors Rowena Lindberg and Peter Armitage.

The funding will enable us to deliver five free community cinema screenings over the coming year, alongside a filmmaking workshop for young people, helping us continue our mission of making cinema accessible to everyone.

Since launching, Bury Film Group has welcomed more than 1,000 people to our free screenings. Our events are designed to bring the community together, reduce social isolation and ensure that everyone can enjoy the magic of the big screen, regardless of their circumstances. We are particularly proud to provide welcoming and inclusive events for families, neurodivergent people, disabled residents and those who might otherwise face barriers to attending the cinema.

The new funding will not only allow us to continue our popular free screenings but will also give young people the opportunity to develop creative skills, learn more about filmmaking and explore careers in the creative industries through a dedicated workshop.
