We’re delighted to share that our latest screening was our most successful yet - and it’s all thanks to the incredible support from our community.
Our recent showing of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie saw over 75 people attend on the night, creating a fantastic atmosphere in the cinema. Families, friends and community members came together to enjoy a shared experience, with plenty of smiles, laughter and excitement throughout.
What made this event particularly special was the overwhelming demand beforehand. We received over 400 ticket requests - making this our most popular screening to date.
Tom Howard, Director of Bury Film Group, said:
“The response to this screening has been phenomenal. It’s fantastic to see so many people wanting to be part of what we’re doing. The hardest part of these events is not being able to welcome everyone who requests a ticket, but it really shows how important free and accessible community events like this are.”
Cllr Rowena Lindberg, who supported the event, added:
“It’s wonderful to see such strong community engagement and to support an initiative that brings people together in such an inclusive and accessible way. Bury Film Group is making a real difference to residents across the town.”
Bury Film Group was set up to make cinema accessible to all, particularly for those who may otherwise struggle to attend due to financial or accessibility barriers. Seeing this level of demand reinforces just how valuable these events are to the local community.
We are hugely grateful to everyone who attended, supported, or helped spread the word. A special thank you also goes to our volunteers, who play a vital role in making each screening possible.
As we look ahead, we are keen to grow and reach even more people. We’re always looking for additional volunteers to support future events, and any support - whether through donations or simply sharing what we do - makes a real difference.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We’re excited for what’s to come.
